 |  | A DisplayThe first--and most important--item you'll need is a 3D-ready display--whether it be a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays usually have a higher processing power than older models as they need to display one image for each eye to create a 3D effect. |
 |  | A SourceWhile your display is ready for 3D playback, you still need a device to read 3D content (i.e., a movie or a show). This source can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3. |
 |  | ContentIn order to watch 3D, you will need to get some 3D content. This 3D content will come from the source mentioned above in the form of a 3D program, movie, or game. Please ensure that your 3D movies are in the Blu-ray 3D format, as this new format will provide the best 3D experience. |
 |  | 3D GlassesAll 3D HDTVs on the market require Active Shutter glasses to create the 3D effect. You will need to buy one pair of glasses for each viewer. Also make sure that the Active Shutter glasses you buy are compatible with your display--for example, buy the glasses from the same brand as your 3D HDTV. |

This projector attracted me because of the price for the brightness. I guess you get what you pay for. In long years' past I had good luck with ViewSonic products and with their warranty service but no longer. This is the worst projector I've ever owned and ViewSonic has treated me terribly about it.I've owned it for about 18 months and only put about 300 hours on it. In that time it's broken twice. The first time was at our organization's biggest conference. ViewSonic would not express ship me a replacement even when I offered to pay for it because they said they simply don't have any of this exact model. I offered to pay the price difference, they still refused.Even when it was working, it would never focus quite right and was always a little "buggy" on startup (not always starting up on the first try).When I got back I sent the projector in and it took them 4 weeks to "fix" it. I used it for 2 weeks and it broke again in exactly the same way. This time they've had it for another 2 weeks so far and I've heard nothing.Having broken twice now in two critical situations, none of my staff will trust this projector on a trip anymore. It's almost pointless to even keep it. A complete waste of $850. After it broke the second time I demanded a replacement with like or similar model, ViewSonic just said "no". They do not stand by their products and they do not care about customer service. I will never buy another ViewSonic product of any kind.

AMAZON HAS THIS PRODUCT LISTED AS A 1080P CAPABLE. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING THIS ITEM. THIS ITEM IS 1080I CAPABLE PLEASE GO TOWWW.VIEWSONIC.COM TO SEE THE REAL SPECS FOR THIS PROJECTOR.

Beware, this projector is being advertised as being 1080p capable. This is not true. I have yet to get a response from Amazon to resolve this situation.
